Linux
What is Linux?
Linux is an operating system along the lines of Windows or Mac & performs the same functions that Windows or Apple software performs. The functionality may be similar but the way it is done is very different. Linux is just another of those pet projects that has evolved into something grand.
What is so good about Linux?Massive free, online support, stability, reliability, automatic patching, more regular updating & minimal malware. Linux has evolved from what was purely a text-based multi-user system into an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI), multi-user system. It is kind of like getting the "basic vehicle based on Formula One" operating system with all the diamond-studded bells & whistles available. All these add-ons can be added if & when you want. The GUI for instance can be simple, simply beautiful or amazing.
Who uses Linux?
I do. Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) around the world use Linux because of the ease of setting it up. Most of the people from poorer countries use Linux. China has its own version & Russians use it extensively to avoid the cost of licensing. Many European Governments are in the process of moving to Linux. Many countries also want to avoid the purported backdoor leaks inbuilt for the NSA, CIA & FBI.
